paws4vets

The Checkered Flag Foundation is honored to partner with paws4vets to sponsor Veterans as they train their own Service K9 alongside dedicated professionals at the paws4vets campus in Wilmington, NC.

The Foundation recently expanded our partnership with paws4vets to include funding for a Crisis Response Dog for the Fayetteville, NC, Fire Department that will join their ranks in the summer of 2026.

Eagle Rock Camp

The Checkered Flag Foundation is proud to partner with Eagle Rock Camp. Through faith in action, Eagle Rock Camp brings military families together to heal, reconnect in their communities, restore their hope and emerge as an empowered, purpose driven unit.

Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation

The Checkered Flag Foundation supports The Cabarrus Healthcare Foundation in bringing the Veteran Recognition Program to Atrium Health Cabarrus. What started out as an act of kindness from Atrium nurse and veteran spouse, Carmen Frutig, the Veteran Recognition Program is now a staple for every Veteran admitted to the clinic. When a Veteran is admitted for treatment, they receive a care package filled with necessities and other items for the veteran to enjoy during their stay.

Novant Health Foundation

The Checkered Flag Foundation was excited to partner with Novant Health Foundation and construct the Pediatric ER Unit’s Triage Room that is part of the larger Pediatric Emergency Center in Huntersville, NC. The Pediatric unit will bring specialized emergency care to thousands of children and teens in the Lake Norman and Huntersville area who previously had limited access to, and choice of, nearby services.

In addition to assisting with the construction of the Triage Room, the Foundation provided funding to Novant Health’s Veteran Recognition Program in 2022. Through this funding, Novant Health was able to revive and create a more robust program to recognize Veterans in their care and Veteran staff at the hospital.
