Our Impact
Since the Checkered Flag Foundation was founded, we’ve raised more than $3.8 million in funding. The following information details the impact we’ve made to the communities we serve:

In 2009, Brad visited Walter Reed Medical Center, the world’s largest joint military medical center that serves as the flagship of military medicine. It was there, while visiting patients injured in the line of duty, that he became inspired to give back to the men and women that answered the call to serve our country. Brad founded The Checkered Flag Foundation the following year in 2010.

The mission of the Foundation is to honor and assist those who have sacrificed greatly for our country and communities. The Foundation accomplishes its mission by providing charitable assistance to individuals and families suffering financial, medical, or other hardship resulting from service to the United States or communities within.
The Foundation is a grant-making, private foundation based in Mooresville, NC, that raises funds throughout the year primarily through its signature fundraising events. Through a comprehensive and objective application process, the Foundation’s staff and board select funding recipients, aiming to empower military professionals, Veterans, first responders, and other national heroes and their families to live a better life.
The Checkered Flag Foundation is run by a team deeply dedicated to serving the Foundation’s mission. Learn more about our Board of Directors and their work to advance our mission below.
