Returning the Favor

In April, Brad Keselowski was invited to visit the Norfolk-based USS Gerald R. Ford and received a behind-the-scenes tour from the vessel's leadership. Keselowski’s tour aboard the nation’s newest aircraft carrier and a flight aboard a Navy helicopter was arranged by Charlotte Motor Speedway officials for promotions leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 during Memorial Day weekend.

Keselowski’s tour aboard the nation’s newest aircraft carrier and a flight aboard a Navy helicopter was arranged by Charlotte Motor Speedway officials for promotions leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 during Memorial Day weekend.
That was a tremendous opportunity to get to see our nation’s heroes on the active duty side,” said Keselowski. “It was a great chance to engage. Sometimes I think we rely on people to come to us, but sometimes you’ve got to go to the people... They’re busy, so they can’t always make it to see us and I enjoy going to see them.”
Prior to the longest race on the NASCAR schedule, Charlotte Motor Speedway hosted guests from all branches of the military, including sailors from the USS Gerald R. Ford. Their visit to the track allowed Keselowski to return the favor by meeting with them pre-race and setting up a tour of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage.
