Operation purple healing adventures: How checkered flag foundation is supporting families of injured service members
PARKTON, N.C. (August 6, 2021)
Brad Keselowski's Checkered Flag Foundation has partnered with National Military Family Association since 2017 to provide family bonding retreats for wounded, ill, or injured service members. Operation Purple Healing Adventures (OPHA) are weekend-long experiences that allow families the quality time they need as they adjust to their "new normal"...life after sustaining a service-related injury. Families have the opportunity to partake in fun camp activities and uniquely designed exercises that promote connection and communications between family members -- at no cost to them!
The weekend of August 6th, 2021 families arrived at Camp Rockfish in Parkton, NC to enjoy a Checkered Flag Foundation sponsored OPHA camp. Families enjoyed canoeing, rock climbing, archery, and much more. These retreats are important because it provides an opportunity to escape the daily stresses of military life.
The Checkered Flag Foundation believes it is the entire military family that serves this great country and deserve to be recognized as such. We are thankful to NMFA for allowing us to support the military community in such a special way.
